ABOUT THE WRITER
From watching Pantomimes since the age of 3, Eleanor knew she wanted to be involved in theatre, like many do when their young, she had to start somewhere.
At the age of 8, joined a local Amateur Dramatics group, and performed in a variety of shows, Pantomimes, Musicals and plays, enjoying every second onstage, she acted for the audiences, wanting to see people smile, laugh, and have a good time, that's all that mattered when she was onstage. In 2018 Eleanor was lucky enough to score a work experience placement at Norwich Theatre Royal and helped backstage during their run of 'Legally Blonde the Musical'. After that she took a course at their Stage Two, to learn more about what goes into backstage at theatre, from set design/building, Stage Management, Lighting and sound and how respected all areas should be, thus gaining valuable experience.
In 2021 she began writing, starting from eagerness to get back onstage, she had come up with her idea for a Cinderella script, based on the story we all know, and got to the title page and called it a day, writing a pantomime is so much more than just following a plot, there is so much to think about, but after 4 years of sticking to it and many, many drafts she had made her first script 'stage-ready' and her first written Pantomime was performed, which she also directed and last minute stage managed, and thankfully the show was very well received, by both cast, crew and the audiences. - What a joy it is to see a script come to life!
She has intentionally written each Pantomime script so that each member of the cast have stuff to do or react to, or even have a small featured role in, as she has played a variety of roles over the years from Chorus to a Comic and Villain, and wants to give everyone a chance to shine.
Although through the years of acting and writing, following scripts was never easy, having Dyslexia made it hard at times, with words moving all over the place and letters straying and forming new words, writing would become a bit of a challenge at times as well as reading, and with auditions being the worst. So if there is anyone who needs any font/background colour alterations for their scripts, please let us know.
Looking forward to 2026, Eleanor is hoping to get more scripts out, Pantomimes and plays, for people to enjoy putting on for their communities, and would love to come along to review groups to appreciate Amateur Dramatics and professional theatre, as it is a passion for many people and the arts should always be around to inspire people and be protected.
