TERMS & CONDITIONS

When applying for a licence to perform from Rose Scripts,

you must read and acknowledge your acceptance of the following terms and conditions: 

 

 

PERUSAL COPIES

1.  Perusal copies are supplied solely for review. Receipt of a perusal copy in no way grants rights to its use in any media as a whole or in part.

2.  Perusal copies are provided in electronic PDF format and must not be printed without consent from Rose Scripts.

3.  All scripts must be deleted or destroyed following perusal or completed production.

4.  All material remains the property of the author. This includes any permitted additions (see. ALTERATIONS & CUTS).

 

LICENSING

1.  A licence to perform must be applied for and granted prior to the start of rehearsals or any form of production announcement (including but not limited to social media).

2.  All licences are non-exclusive unless otherwise arranged. 

3.  Licences are non-transferable and strictly for the number of performances/dates detailed in the contractual agreement.  

4.  Rose Scripts must be informed as soon as possible of any additional performances other than those detailed in the signed agreement. An additional payment will be due and an updated licence issued.

5.  A minimum of 50% of the total fee is due alongside a signed copy of the contractual agreement to secure any licence with the remaining balance due no later than 60 days from the contract date.

6.  Deposit payments and licensing fees are non-refundable.

7.  In the event of necessary postponement of a production due to force majeure, performance dates can be rescheduled and re-licensed at no additional cost.

 

ALTERATIONS & CUTS

1.  The theatre company/organisation is permitted and authorised to make minor cuts or alterations if required. Minor refers to the alteration or omission of individual lines unless to the detriment of the integrity of the script. (If you are unsure if it is a minor amendment, please contact us for advice) 

2.  Any changes in structure, addition of characters or any other changes deemed substantial must be detailed and confirmed in writing. 

3.  A copy of any script containing major alterations must be sent for approval.

4.  All material remains the property of the author including any alterations and additions made by the licensee. 

5.  Scripts may contain song suggestions.  These are only for guidance and may be substituted / omitted if required for your production.  Rose Scripts does not grant any permissions to use any suggested music tracks and the company / organisation must make their own enquiries for permissions from the relevant bodies. 

 

AUDIO/VIDEO RECORDING

1. Rights to create an audio or video recording of your production are not included in the licence and must be applied for separately.

2.  Rose Scripts grants rights to record solely the dialogue as detailed in the script. The recording of any copyrighted music is exempt from this and rights to record must be sought from the relevant copyright holders.

3.  An A/V recording licence allows permission to produce a recording for the personal use of the society/theatre company/organisation or individual or for archiving purposes. There must be no public screening (this includes sharing of any recording online).

4.  Copies of any recording must not be sold commercially without prior arrangement. 

ARTWORK USE

1.  Rights to the use of Rose Scripts marketing materials are not included in the licence and must be applied for separately by purchasing one of our marketing packages. 

AUTHOR ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

1.  The society/theatre company/organisation must acknowledge the writer in all publicity and/or printed materials including (but not limited to) leaflets, posters, programmes and advertisements.

2.  This acknowledgement extends to the author's name being detailed acknowledgement may take the form of any of the following: 

  • A 'Eleanor Rose ' Play (or) Panto (Depending on which it is)

  • A pantomime (or) Play by Eleanor Rose

  • *PANTOMIME TITLE* (or) *PLAY TITLE* by Eleanor Rose

  • *PANTOMIME TITLE* (or) *PLAY TITLE* by Eleanor Rose

All acknowledgements must be prominent within the design of any advertisement materials and no smaller than the font size 11. If you are unsure if your design fits this, send a proof for approval.

3.  The 'Rose Scripts' logo is available for inclusion upon request.

 

GENERAL

1.  Rose Scripts reserves the right to make alterations to these terms and conditions whenever it becomes necessary.

2.  Should a theatre company/society/organisation be in breach of any of the terms and conditions of the contract or as detailed above then Rose Scripts may terminate any licence agreement and refuse future applications with no reimbursement.

3.  Breach of any of the terms and conditions may result in legal action being taken.

4.  Rose Scripts reserves all rights.
